ioDrive and ioDrive Duo Power Consumption
ioDrive and ioDrive Duo Power Consumption

The ioDrive power consumption varies by device capacity as well as external temperature:

80GB/160GB ioDrive 320GB/640GB ioDrive 320GB ioDrive Duo 640GB/1.2TB ioDrive Duo
Idle   4 watts   4 watts   12 watts   12 watts
100% Read   9 watts   8 watts   22 watts   20 watts
100% Write   12 watts   15 watts   25 watts [1]   25 watts [1]

[1] The ioDrive Duo is fully compliant with the PCIE 2.0 bus specification of 25 watts and does not require external power. If external power is made available to the ioDrive duo, the maximum write throughput may increase. Any external power source attached to an ioDrive Duo by the external power connector must provide at least 35 Watts per device

Note: This reflects typical power draw at 25° C ambient temperature. Add 3 watts draw when running at the ioDrive's maximum temperature of 50° C ambient temperature. Future product power needs may vary.
